    This book describes a curvature-based corner detector that detects both fine and coarse features accurately at low computational cost. First, it extracts contours from a Canny edge map. Second, it computes the absolute value of curvature of each point on a contour at a low scale and regards local maxima of absolute curvature as initial corner candidates. Third, it uses an adaptive curvature threshold to remove round corners from the initial list. Finally, false corners due to quantization noise and trivial details are eliminated by evaluating the angles of corner candidates in a dynamic region of support. It provides a feasible way to locate the positions of two eyeballs, near and far corners of eyes, midpoint of nostrils and mouth corners from face image. Preliminary observation, imaginary based study, model simulation has been carried out. The model study has also been performed using various bank protection measures. The computed hydrodynamic results resemble the actual field condition. The results showing bank erosion, morphological changes, are also quite logical. However, several input data are required for the simulation of the model. Though field data have been collected for some of the important parameters, default value or approximate value chosen on the basis of general experience has been used for some less important parameters.     Computer vision needs suitable methods of shape representation and contour reconstruction. One of them, invented by the author and called method of Hurwitz-Radon Matrices (MHR), can be used in representation and reconstruction of shapes of the objects in the plane. Proposed method is based on a family of Hurwitz-Radon (HR) matrices. The matrices are skew-symmetric and possess columns composed of orthogonal vectors. 2D shape is represented by the set of successive nodes. It is shown how to create the orthogonal and discrete OHR operator and how to use it in a process of shape representation and reconstruction.     This work is about biometric 3D face recognition. General biometric systems as well as specific techniques used in 2D and 3D face recognition are described. An automatic modular 3D face recognition method is proposed. First, facial landmarks are located on the face surface and the three dimensional model is aligned to a predefined position. After that, the input probe scan is compared to the gallery template. There are three fundamental face recognition algorithms employed during this process - the eigenface method (PCA), the recognition using histogram-based features, and the recognition based on the anatomical-Bertillon face features. The decision module fuses the scores provided by the utilized recognition techniques finally. The resulting performance is better than any of utilized recognition algorithms.

    A face recognition system that solves the problem of changes in facial expression and mimics in 3D range images. So here, we propose a local variation detection and restoration method based eigenfaces using the principal component analysis (PCA). The depth map of a 3D facial image is first smoothed using median filter to minimize the local variation. The forefront nose point is selected to be the image center for alignment. The detected face shape is cropped & normalized to a standard image size of 101x101 pixels. Facial depth-valus are scaled between 0 and 255 for translation and scaling-invariant identification. The preprocessed face image is smoothed to minimize the local variations. The PCA is applied to the resultant range data and the corresponding principal or Eigen images are used as the characteristic feature vectors of the subject to find the person identity in the database of pre-recorded faces. A leading current approach for treatment requires physicians qualitatively to classify the fracture to one of four possible fracture severity cases. It has been observed that qualitative evaluation of fracture severity by physicians can vary significantly which can lead to potential misclassification and mistreatment of these fracture cases. The system described in this book applies novel three-dimensional (3D) puzzle-solving algorithms to identify the fracture fragments in the CT image data and piece them back together in a virtual environment. В результате разработки создан программный продукт, позволяющий визуализировать сложные физические эффекты в 3D-пространстве, которые иллюстрированы примером задачи N тел. Пример показывает эффективность предлагаемого метода распараллеливания. Проведено исследование по совместному использованию технологий CUDA и DirectX. В результате исследования была разработана методика визуализации физических эффектов с помощью библиотек CUDA и DirectX. Разработанная методика предусматривает гибкость в решении задач визуализации физических эффектов и широкие функциональные возможности. Актуальность работы заключается в использовании высокопроизводительных вычислений на GPU-системах для решения задач визуализации сложных задач анализа и обработка изображений, симуляции физических законов, моделирования динамики газов и жидкостей, решения задач компьютерного зрения и других.

    This work presents a novel framework for 4D medical data compression architecture. This framework is based on different procedures and algorithms that detect temporal and spatial redundancies in recorded MRI volumes. Integration of segmentation, block matching and motion field prediction along with expert knowledge are incorporated to reduce temporal redundancy. Spatial analysis is done through the extension of wavelet transformations to three dimensions. With the combination of temporal and spatial redundancies removal, very high compression ratio is achieved. The suggested data compression architecture can be implemented in telemedicine to improve the quality of service. Each part of the system architecture is implemented independently and can be used for other approaches such as entertainment applications and other new applications that use 4D data.
